We're currently open to submissions of fiction, creative nonfiction, and art for our first issue, which will be released online in November of 2019. If you're a poet, you might be interested in our chapbook contest. Submissions for our first issue will close on August 15.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
-
Submissions must be previously unpublished works.
-
We only accept submissions through our Submittable page. Submissions made through email will not be read.
-
All submissions must be typed, double-spaced, and include the author's name and contact information.
-
Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please notify us immediately via Submittable if the piece is accepted elsewhere.
-
We aim to respond to all submissions within 3 to 4 months, but ask that you hold off on queries until 6 months have passed.
FICTION GUIDELINES:
-
We're open to any style or genre. If it's a compelling narrative that challenges and captivates the imagination, send it our way.
-
Length: Under 10,000 words. Please only submit 1 short story at a time. If you're submitting flash fiction (roughly 1,000 words or less), you may include up to 3 pieces in a single document.
CREATIVE NONFICTION GUIDELINES:
-
We're open to all kinds of creative nonfiction, from memoir to personal essay to literary journalism. We're simply interested in seeing strong narratives that make the familiar unfamiliar.
-
Length: Under 10,000 words. Please only submit 1 essay at a time. If you're submitting shorter pieces (roughly 1,000 words or less), you may include up to 3 pieces in a single document.
ART GUIDELINES:
-
We're open to any style or medium. We're primarily interested in artwork suitable for the issue's cover, but are also interested in highlighting a series of works from the same artist within the issue.
-
Submit up to 5 pieces. Each piece can be uploaded as a separate file (must be JPG and PDF) as a part of the same submission. Please state details about the artwork, including size and medium, in the cover letter portion of the submission.
